Mainframe tip
The best way to count the number of records in a VSAM File.
1.Choose FILE-AID Option 3.8
2. At the prompt of ….ENTER NEXT FUNCTION OR END , enter TALLY
3. U will get the record count
4. Type END to exit.

How does a creditor (Bank) decide whether to lend to a customer for a new car or a home mortgage?
The creditor may examine past credit history of the borrower to evaluate the credit worthiness. A credit scoring system is used by the creditor to give  points for each factor that the creditor considers important.
Credit bureaus collects, stores, and reports the relevant identifying and credit information of customers.
Credit bureaus are “clearinghouses” for information about borrowers and how these borrowers handle their financial responsibilities.
Credit bureaus establish and maintain “credit files” on consumers who apply to creditors for or use individual or joint credit.
The core of Credit Information is the past  payment history of the Borrower.
CIBIL – (launched in 2004) India’s first credit information bureau.
Credit Bureaus are known as Consumer Reporting Agencies (CRA) in US.

Terminologies used in credit bureau
Credit file — All the information about a particular customer in the records of a credit bureau.
Credit rating —  A customer’s relative credit-worthiness based on information from the credit report, credit application, and interviews.
Credit report —  A written, oral, or other communication from a credit bureau to a creditor, employer, or insurer concerning a customer’s credit history.
